Open art competitions

The open art competition is sponsored by
Independent Heating & Plumbing Supplies Ltd, Bamber Bridge.
It is divided into two sections:
SECTION 1. Students, in two subdivisions: i) primary school students and ii) secondary/high school students. AGE must be stated. Prizes in each division may be awarded to first, second and third in the form of  art materials or vouchers; commendations may also be given.
SECTION 2.  Professionals & amateurs 16 years of age or over £3 per entry (no limit). Awards are as follows:  1st The Josephine Morgan trophy + £300;  2nd trophy + £200;  3rd trophy + £100.
At the judges’ discretion additional awards or commendations may be made or any award withheld

Entries are received at St Mary’s Priory, (next to the church), Brownedge Lane, Preston PR5 6SP between 10 am and 5 pm on Saturday 27th April† 

All entries must be 
 1 - IMPORTANT! Ready for hanging with mirror plates or D rings attached - if D rings, WITHOUT CORD!
Please NB that it is essential that the mirror plates or D rings are accessible from the front of the entry. Hanging will require any cords to be REMOVED.
 2 -  original, recent and not previously entered for this competition
 3 -  there is no maximum or minimum size but please use the contact form before submitting very large items
 4 -  labelled clearly on reverse with owner’s name, address, phone number, title, medium, price if for sale*, NFS if not
 5  - Under 16 entries accompanied by entry form (no fee) must include age and school
 6 - 16 & over  entries accompanied by an entry form and fee of £3 per item (no limit to number of items)
 7 - Entries are judged & selected for exhibition by a panel of adjudicators chaired by professional artist Martin Cullen
The decisions of the adjudicators are final.
 8 - Any entry not selected for exhibition may be collected at any time during Festival opening hours. (See also 10 below)
 9 - Insurance is a matter for owners: neither Festival Committee nor Ampleforth Abbey Trustees can accept liability for loss or damage.
10 - Entries accepted for exhibition must be collected from the
church between 1 pm and 5 pm on Saturday 11th May.†     Displayed entries may not be removed during the course of Festival.
